The Boulangerie is a regular, unscheduled feature of Technocomplex, appearing once or twice a week. It is for half-baked, rising dough, the just-now-in-the-oven entries. After all boulangerie in French is bakery. Entries are always very short. To find out when new loaves have been set out, follow @mrdelong@mastodon.online or watch Substack Notes.

Beautiful photography of magnificent horses.
“I’ve photographed horses for many years, both for my own fine art portfolio and for clients”, tells Tony Bonanno. “Assignments have included quarter horses on western ranches, grand prix jumpers, rodeo horses, and wild roaming Spanish Mustangs. Equine photography has been one of my specialties. A brisk April day in 2015. My colleague, photojournalist Jodie Willard, and I are in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, France, on the Mediterranean coast, in the heart of the Rhone Delta. The area is also known as the Camargue Delta. We are there to photograph the Camargue Horses and the Gardians (the “keepers” of the horses).”

Schoolchildren send pastry to space, topping flying Duke Blue Devil by miles
CornwallLive reported, “In 2017, a mission was set out by Cornish schoolchildren. They wanted to send a pasty into space in a world-first. It was a roaring success as it reached an incredible 35,482m (116,410ft).”
The 116,410-foot altitude of the flying pastry outdid the flying Blue Devil, who achieved a relatively paltry 75,651-foot altitude. Besides that, the pastry came back in one piece, but the poor Blue Devil lost his head.
